The following Malaysian Government regulations apply to all international students wanting to study at Monash University Malaysia.

|Approved institution||International students are allowed to study in public or private educational institutions that have been approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs.||The Monash University Malaysia is an approved institution.|
|Student Pass approval||The Malaysian Immigration Department makes it mandatory for any international student who wishes to study in Malaysia to obtain a Student Pass approval.||To study at the Monash University Malaysia you must obtain a Student Pass approval or visa approval letter.|
|Student Pass application||International students, residing abroad and wishing to enrol for a course of study at Monash University Malaysia must obtain the requisite Student Pass approval or visa approval letter prior to entering Malaysia.||You must ensure that a valid Student Pass approval or visa approval letter is presented to the University by or on the first day of Orientation for your commencing semester.|
|Student Pass and transferring students||International students, transferring from another institution located in Malaysia, are similarly required to ensure that they obtain a Student Pass from the Malaysian Immigration Department that would enable them to enrol for a course of study at the Monash University Malaysia campus.||Transferring students must ensure that a valid (renewed) Student Pass is presented to the University by or on the first day of Orientation for your commencing semester.|
|Student Pass and enrolment||International students who fail to present a valid Student Pass approval or visa approval letter to the University by or on the first day of Orientation will not be permitted to enrol for a course of study for the semester in question under any circumstances.||If you fail to enrol in a particular semester as a result of a failure to obtain a Student Pass approval or visa approval letter, you may reapply to enrol in the University in the following semester and would need to reapply for a Student Pass approval or visa approval letter.|
|Regulatory compliance||The University has taken all reasonable steps to inform the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysian Immigration Department, feeder institutions, and registered student recruitment agents of the University of its strict compliance with Malaysian Immigration laws that pertain to international students.|
