Health check and insurance
Malaysia student pass (visa) rules require international students to have a health check and Medical and Health Insurance once in Malaysia.
We will advise you on how to proceed with the health check at Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) Panel Clinic, when you first arrive as part of the Student Pass endorsement process.
Please click here for a full list of EMGS panel clinics or hospitals.
It is compulsory for all international students to be covered by a locally purchased medical insurance. As an international student at Monash Malaysia, you are covered by the University’s Medical Insurance Plan, currently operated by AIG Malaysia Insurance Berhad (AIG), a long established insurer in Malaysia.
The AIG Medical Insurance package provides comprehensive coverage that meets the minimum coverage set out by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The package fully covers or contributes toward most hospital charges, including room and board, consultation and surgical fees, intensive care and outpatient services and reimbursement of tuition fees for prolonged illness (but some maximum limits could apply). Information of the coverage, terms and conditions of this policy schedule is available here.
