Profile Summary

Dr Syafiq Asnawi is an Assistant Lecturer at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JCSMHS). He holds a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) degree, majoring in medical biotechnology, from Monash University, Clayton Campus, Australia in 2012. He obtained his PhD in 2018 in biomedical science from Monash University Malaysia. His PhD research was focusing on the proteomic characterization and anti-cancer activities from the venom of Malaysian pit vipers on human colon cancer cells.

Throughout his studies, Dr Syafiq acquired the skills and was trained in various advanced proteomic techniques such as operating and maintaining mass spectrometry system (Agilent QTOF LCMS and Agilent QQQ LCMS) and data analysis using various advanced proteomic software such as PEAKS (Bioinformatics Solutions Inc., Canada) and Spectrum Mill (Agilent). He was previously appointed as the Principal Technical Officer at the liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LCMS) Platform, JCSMHS, Monash University Malaysia and was actively involved in managing and participating in workshops as a speaker and an LCMS content expert.
