Why did you decide to study at Monash University Malaysia?
Monash is well known as one of the most prestigious universities around the globe. It is also well equipped with state of the art facilities and its courses are well structured to enhance students' educational experience.
What/who influenced your decision in choosing Monash?
Choosing Monash was very much my decision as much as my family's decision as most of them were Monash graduates themselves.
Please describe your study experience at Monash University Malaysia.
My study experience in Monash has been nothing short of awesome. The facilities provided ( library, computer lab, science labs, lecture halls) were all well equipped to cater for students' needs. Other than that, the lecturers that have taught me are immensely experienced in their respective field of study. They would also constantly improve their method of teaching (eg: online programs) so that their classes remain interesting even after several semesters. Monash's club and society provided an excellent study life balance by encouraging students to participate in activities such as the Monash Cup. All in all, the positive study experience coupled with the wonderful friends I've met made the study experience in Monash University one of the best experiences of my life.
Were there any obstacles faced while studying here? How did you overcome these?
I was working part time while studying and it was hard to juggle between work and classes. Initially I had to skip lectures to make it in time for work but after discussing with my employers I managed to work on hours that did not clash with my classes.
What qualities did you acquire during your studies at Monash University Malaysia that were beneficial / helpful to you in the working world?
Confidence. As a science student we had practical sessions every week. The weekly lab sessions taught me to be confident in my work and to execute each task with efficiency.
What advice would you offer to current students who wish to attain success in University
University is just a stepping stone that leads you to the real world. Sharpen your skills in every aspect (communication, presentation, social, teamwork, writing) possible because it adds value to yourself and employers will value your contributions. Good grades are important but unless your dream job is to read journals and write reports 5 days a week, you should always actively participate in any clubs or societies whether on campus or off campus. Last but not least, surround yourself with good friends because they make the most hectic week easier to endure.
Please name one memorable educational experience for you at Monash University Malaysia.
The Monash Cup is probably the most memorable experience for me.
