Jan =96 Today marks the historical moment for the Kuala Lumpur Infrastr=
ucture University College (KLIUC) when they celebrate the KLIUC=92s 10th=
Year Anniversary at their campus; IKRAM Park. The event whi= ch commences at the KLIUC=92s Multipurpose Hall is officiated by the Par= liamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education, Y.B. Datuk Dr.= Adham Baba accompanied by KLIUC=92s President, Y. Bhg. Prof. Dato=92 Wi= ra Ir. Dr. Mohammad Noor Bin Hj. Salleh. The solemnization of KLIUC=92s = Anniversary is witnessed by the Vice Presidents of KLIUC, Academic and N= on-academic staffs, students and fellow guests. Y. Bhg. Prof.= Dato Wira Ir. Dr. Mohammad Noor Bin. Hj. Salleh starts the event by del= ivering his welcoming speech, followed by the speech of Y.B. Datuk Adham= Baba, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education. Duri= ng the event, KLIUC takes the opportunity to show their gratitude to the= pioneer and dedicated staff from Ikram College to KLIUC who have render= ed their services since 12 January 1998 till today by presenting them to= ken of appreciation. Apart from that, guests are also entertained by fan= tastic performances by KLIUC=92s very own local and international studen= ts. As Malaysia=92s premier Infrastructure University, KLIUC = gained its influence of expertise and aptitude through the Research and = Training Institute of the Public Works Department, Malaysia (JKR) by est= ablishing Ikram College in 1998 as an initial and keen approach towards = developing to tertiary education. Ikram College was later upgraded to a = university college in 2003. Given that, KLIUC today offers mo= re than 30 programmes covering almost all major industries. All the prog= rammes offered are based on the market demand such as Engineering, Infor= mation Technology, Business Administration, Corporate Communication, Acc= ountancy and others. As to future development, KLIUC plans to= introduce more challenging programmes. To name a few; Architecture, Qua= ntity Survey, Applied Science & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Optometry = and Foreign Language Studies. Majority of the programmes are = accredited and approved by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), for= merly known as the National Accreditation Board (LAN). KLIUC has also re= ceived international recognition where KLIUC is certified with ISO 9001:= 2000 and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). = Apart from that, KLIUC is also approved as a MSC status institution. With over 20 overseas universities around the world collaborati= ng with KLIUC, it has enabled KLIUC to compete both locally and globally= in terms of education quality and business prospect. The mutual arrange= ment with some of the universities from countries like the United Kingdo= m, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, China and Germany offers covering br= oad activities which would benefit both parties. Today, KLIU= C has successfully produced high quality human capital which contributes= to the country=92s infrastructure development. Most of KLIUC graduates = are well sought after by the government and private sectors for employme= nt opportunities. =93 Today, we are glad to see KLIUC fresh = graduates and final year students attached with both government and priv= ate corporations such as Public Works Department, Malaysia (PWD); the Ma= laysian Highway Authority (LLM); Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM); IJM Corpo= ration Berhad; The People=92s Bank of China, MEASAT Satellite System Sdn= Bhd; the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); and Leo = Burnett, the award-winning international advertising agency.=94 says the= President of KLIUC; Prof. Dato=92 Wira Ir. Dr. Mohammad Noor b. Hj. Sal= leh. Moving forward, KLIUC is committed to continuously culti= vate skilled human capitals capable of contributing to the country's dev= elopment in the future as to fulfill the mandate of Malaysia=92s Prime M= inister Dato=92 Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to see the budding generation= at KLIUC applying the knowledge and skills that they have learnt here t= o develop high-quality infrastructure that would also contribute to the = well-being of all Malaysians. |
